Playing football with friends and colleagues is an excellent and traditional way to build relationships. Sport is the perfect sport to calm your mind, de-stress and just get that feel good factor! And for all of us who are conscious of their weight – playing football burns those dreaded calories!
LeisureWorld Churchfield and Cork City Council have invested over €70,000 in the re-development of the Sam Allen pitches with new fencing, lights and goal posts – along with the rebranding of the centre after 12 years.
Speaking at the Launch Christine Moloney, CEO of LeisureWorld believes that “ price is a barrier that can inhibit access to a healthy lifestyle, in order to face up to the challenge and help our customers we have an introduced a special price for 2010 – which reflects the recessionary times – we hope that the community will get behind Sam Allen once more”
This re-launch of the Sam Allen pitches is supported by Roddy Collins and the players of Cork City Football Club who believe that the playing football at community and grass roots level is important for all people who want to staff fit and healthy.
This support coupled with the City Councils investment of €70,000 shows that both sporting organizations and local government are out in full support of the communities of North Cork City.
